Hyper Launcher
Minecraft in your browser — no downloads, no installs, no account needed. Pick a version, hit launch, and you're in.
Why Choose Hyper?
Hyper Launcher runs Eaglercraft directly in your browser — no Java install, no launcher download, no Minecraft account needed. We host and maintain the game files ourselves so you're always on a stable, tested build. Just open the page and play.
Works on Chromebooks, school computers, and low-end laptops. If your browser supports WebGL, you're good. For better performance on modern browsers, switch to the WASM-GC runtime in the launch panel — it runs noticeably smoother.

February 4, 2026 — Hyper Network is back online
After extended downtime, Hyper is back up. We spent several days running stress tests, reviewing server configs, and fixing backend issues that caused instability. Everything is stable now and we're actively monitoring.
New game modes now in Alpha
Three new modes are live: Skyblock, Murder Mystery, and The Hyper Pit. These are early Alpha builds — expect some rough edges. If you find a bug or something feels off, drop it in the Discord bug-reports channel.
Fresh start for everyone
Every previously banned account has been unbanned as part of this relaunch. Rules are being enforced more consistently going forward. Beta is coming — follow along in Discord for updates as we build toward it.
About Eaglercraft
What is Eaglercraft?
Eaglercraft is a browser port of Minecraft originally created by lax1dude. It uses TeaVM to compile Minecraft's Java bytecode into JavaScript or WebAssembly so it runs natively in a browser — no plugins, no Java install required. It's not affiliated with Mojang.
Is it the real Minecraft?
It's a compiled version of older Minecraft releases (1.5.2, 1.8, 1.12.2). The gameplay, blocks, mobs, and mechanics are identical to the original versions. Multiplayer works through a WebSocket proxy rather than Mojang's servers.
How does it run in a browser?
The Java code is compiled ahead-of-time into JavaScript (or WASM-GC for newer builds). A custom OpenGL emulator written by lax1dude translates Minecraft's rendering calls into WebGL. The result is real Minecraft running entirely client-side in your tab.
OptiFine support
EaglercraftX (the 1.8 and 1.12.2 builds) includes an OptiFine-equivalent rendering layer — dynamic lighting, smooth lighting improvements, and configurable render distance. The Tuff client adds extra QoL features on top of that.
Community
Discord
Our Discord is where everything happens — server announcements, bug reports, ban appeals, game mode feedback, and general Minecraft chat. If you want to find other players to team up with or need help with something, that's the place.
Multiplayer servers
Hyper Network runs its own game servers — Skyblock, Murder Mystery, and The Hyper Pit are all live right now in Alpha. More modes are planned. Server IP and connection info is available on the play page and in Discord.
How It Works
1. Choose Your Version
Pick from 1.5.2, 1.8.8, or 1.12.2. If you're not sure, go with 1.8.8 — it's the most stable and the most popular on our servers. 1.12.2 has the most features but is slightly heavier on older hardware.
2. Pick Your Client
OptiFine (EaglercraftX) is the default — stable, well-tested, closest to vanilla. Tuff Client is a community fork with extra features like a mini-map and additional settings. Both work on all versions they support.
3. Choose JS or WASM-GC
JavaScript works on everything. WASM-GC is faster but requires Chrome 119+, Firefox 120+, or Edge 119+. If your browser supports it, use WASM-GC — the difference in chunk loading and input latency is noticeable.
4. Hit Launch
The game opens in your current tab. Use F11 for fullscreen. Your settings and keybinds save to your browser's local storage, so they'll be there next time you come back.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Hyper Launcher free?
Yes. No account, no subscription, no payment of any kind. Open the site and play.
What browsers work?
Any browser with WebGL — Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari. Chrome or Firefox gives you the best experience. For WASM-GC you need Chrome 119+, Firefox 120+, or Edge 119+.
Does it work on a Chromebook?
Yes. That's one of the main use cases. JavaScript runtime works on all Chromebooks; WASM-GC works on Chrome OS with an up-to-date Chrome build.
Can I play multiplayer?
Yes. Multiplayer connects to eag.hyper-network.net for Eaglercraft. Our game servers (Skyblock, Murder Mystery, The Hyper Pit) are live and in Alpha. Find server addresses and community servers in our Discord.
Will my settings save?
Yes — keybinds, graphics settings, and skin all save to your browser's local storage. They persist between sessions as long as you don't clear your browser data.
How do I report a bug?
Post in the bug-reports channel in our Discord. Include your browser, version, and what you were doing when the bug happened.
Supported Versions
Minecraft 1.5.2 — The Redstone Update
The lightest build we offer. Includes Hoppers, Droppers, Redstone Comparators, Daylight Sensors, and Nether Quartz. Best for older hardware or anyone who wants a clean, no-frills survival experience. JavaScript runtime only.
Minecraft 1.8.8 — The Bountiful Update
Our most-played version. Adds Ocean Monuments, Guardians, new stone variants, and the combat system most PvP players prefer. Available in both JavaScript and WASM-GC. Recommended for new players.
Minecraft 1.12.2 — The World of Color Update
The most feature-complete version on Hyper. Full concrete and terracotta palette, the advancements system, and Tuff Client support. Slightly heavier than 1.8.8 — use WASM-GC if your hardware struggles.
WASM-GC Runtime
Available for 1.8.8 and 1.12.2. Compiles closer to native code than JavaScript — faster chunk loading, lower input lag, smoother frame delivery. Requires a modern browser build (Chrome 119+, Firefox 120+, Edge 119+).
